Perhaps you missed my opening sentence. I had looked and was
surprised myself. It appears that we get 6 in a week on Tues & Sat, 3
in a week on Weds or Thurs. Sometimes I have staggered the returns,
holding one disc longer than the others. But we always seem to get
back into 3 at a time sync?

Yep, that's the program.

Nov. 16 so far, 3 shipping today
(how I managed to end up with none over the holiday amazes me;-(

I hear ya!

I will say that we favor older movies, documentaries, and English
language TV series, from any country, which we've never seen before,
all of which are usually available. When a new movie sounds of
interest, we put it in the "saved" queue often before it appears on
the big screen. When it pops in to the "active" queue, I move it to
the top. But it's rare to have 3 "new releases" queued for their
release date, more likely none and sometimes 1 or 2. Oddly, today
there were 4 and 3 of them shipped. I don't recall a single week when
a new release was at the top of the queue that it was not shipped.
And believe me, I find that surprising - statistically.

We're in southern California, just a 20 minute drive from a NetFlix
distribution center and a 7 minute walk from a large satellite post
office. Our returns almost always show up at NF the next morning, and
their shipments always do show up here the next morning. I would
expect less, were we more remote, but have grown very accustomed to
this level of service.

Neighbors often drop in for movie night when the red envelopes appear,
and some of the rentals are merely for a neighbor who might have asked
whether could get a video for them.
