Sounds like yet another reason to avoid Region 2 DVDs and get the Region
1 releases.

Indeed, I have user prohibitions override on my chipped Sony DVD player.
There is no going back; I could never contemplate getting a DVD player
now which wasn't fully region free and user prohibitions free.
