That's exactly what I'm going to do - keep a small screen for watching
the news etc and only use the big screen for movies and the likes of
major sports events.
I'll connect it to a silent PC Media centre, then I can put in whatever
format drive wins the Blueray/HDDVD war for considerably less than a
full player. So far I haven't seen an advert for a projector of that
resolution.
