Their BBC shills are creaming themselves:
The UK recording industry has welcomed the G8 nations' commitment to
protect intellectual property and tackle piracy and counterfeiting.
The British Phonographic Industry trade group said international
enforcement was necessary in a global marketplace and with the rise of
the internet.
Each country is to set up a website explaining their intellectual
property laws, the G8 agreed in St Petersburg.
A study is to be carried out into the costs of piracy and
counterfeiting.
The G8 also announced plans to examine the possibility of strengthening
the international legal framework on intellectual property rights.
Ahead of the summit, the BPI urged Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett
to discuss bargain music download website allofmp3.com with Russian
President Vladimir Putin.
The BPI is suing the Russian site, claiming it is breaking UK law by
selling music there without the necessary licence.
Allofmp3.com says it operates "in full compliance with all Russian
laws".
