Azden appears to be attempting to go up-market with some of their
recent products. They were vigorously defended by a professional
videographer in SFO here a year or two ago. I have not personally
used any of their equipment, though.

And anything <$500 is likely a plastic toy not worth the "investment".

I have several 800-900 MHz Sony units which I have bought used
(eBay) and I am quite happy with all of them. But I bought them
from private users (not vendors) who had first-hand experience
with them and could vouch for their condition.
