Very interesting article. I buy from both the net and from bricks and
mortar, mostly bricks and mortar, though. There are two stores that I
visit once a week. Both of them stock records, CDs, videos and DVDs -
new and used. One is a small independant store that only stocks back
catalogue. It has an excellent well-stocked 50s and 60s section. The
other is just up the road and is the biggest music store in the area.
It is not unusual for me to spend 3, 4 or even 5 hours trawling through
all the sale bins and other bins and I rarely leave empty-handed. This
store has an even bigger branch in a larger city that operates a
website and that is where most of my net purchases are made. Most of my
net purchases are second hand CDs. I haven't noticed any graying of the
clientele of either store, particularly the larger one where most of
the staff are very young. Both stores are always busy in the weekends
and there is always a wide range of age groups.
