Split the project in sections. Render each section to AVI. When Studio freezes
while creating the AVI, re-split in smaller sections. With a few attempts
you should be able to isolate the guilty spots.
While doing this, save the AVIs. You will be able to use them for the final
project (instead of the original project, just concatenate the AVIs).
Personal experience: corrupted video input, zero or negative durations,
gaps in the project. Not necessarily in the location of the scrubber
when Studio freezes.
