I have been working on getting a new dvd recorder installed and have
been trying to figure it out for over a week, installing, reinstalling,
etc. Even when and got a new cable.

Finally figured the problem was a new Windows XP update that I had not
installed for Media at the Windows update site.

Just wanted to post this in case any other folks were having the same
problem.

I tried everything until I finally hit on the update.
