I should say I don't believe all the negative hype about this newsgroup
being composed of pompous blowhards who have turned running-off newbies
into an art form. I lurked before posting and concluded this assessment
of the group is not entirely true.

But, as a fellow pointed out to me in email, the knee-jerk answers you
get here are often out-dated or not the best for newbies. This thread
may illustrate that. Mind you, no one is disputing the regulars who
replied are seasoned pros with more knowledge about video production
than God; the point the fellow who emailed me was making, I think, is
that each took it as an act of subversion that a lowly newbie dare
question his word.

I suppose the fellow who emailed me this opinion had a point. In his
email he also referred to the respondents as small-brained wedding
photographers and bankruptcy-prone shop keepers, names I feel also
exaggerate.

Still, I agree things could have been handled more maturely.
