Check your preferences. Usually DV comes through easily so I bet your
computer is looking for something a little different than what your
giving it. Also in the mac world we never ever use VM during capture.
That might be the problem right there. Your computer is hefty enough to
firewire right in without extra help.
In preferences check what kind of video you're trying to capture and
make sure the framerates match and timecode should be DF. You should
have presets like mini DV that should help you get going.
