The thing I feared the most happened -- the Canon GL-2 UPS delivered
Friday was a lemon. The mic terminal is fried. When I stick a 1/8 plug
in it, it sounds like the inside of Bob Ford's head -- dead. If I pull
the plug halfway out I pick up a clear signal but that's no
consolation.

So I called B&H (they're open on Sundays) and got an RMA. I'll drop it
off at UPS tomorrow; easy enough, but because of the shipping and
processing time I'll not have a new one until the 31st.

Bad enough, but now I'm thinking -- what if I get another lemon?

Sheesh ...

In the meantime I'm buying this puppy:
