All of the combo players I've seen are stereo and have Hi-Fi (stereo)
VCR units. They all have L/R analog audio outs (red and white phono
plugs) which will work with your receiver, as it apparently isn't
digital audio capable. DVD sound will play through those analog outs;
you aren't required to use the optical or coax digital audio out.
