The Anycast doesn't tell you in an obvious way, but the multiple
simultaneous inputs are all composite analog, not DV. I don't care
personally; coax is way cheaper than the same length in firewire. it
also has some quirks in the accessibility of the built-in titler. For
church work this may not be an issue.
But check out the B&H online catalog for a DV video switcher/mixer by
Edirol that's under a grand (!). And it does take firewire-in! If this
is not a toy but a real product, it is a great deal!
Another similar product to compare to the Anycast is the newtek
Tricaster. Very portable, very powerful, and I understand there isa
worship-oriented add-on package for it. One thing it has over the
anycast is a NLE editing system built in.
They all have different strengths and weaknesses. check them out and
compare.
