That little plastic adaptor plug is not doing "dvi to
vga" conversion. The video card is outputing both
DVI and VGA.

The fact remains that unless you are using broadcast
monitors (television monitors, not computer screens)
that cost several times more than your computer, the
computer screen will never display the television
picture accurately enough to do serious evaluation
and adjustment.

If I were you, I would just pick which ever screen
you like best and ignore the other one (when it comes
to making image adjustments). Get on with your
life and enjoy your cheap wine.
