Would my word, as someone who has worked for years on live and
live-to-tape shows, count as proof?
Time yourself and see how long it takes to say "Ready One, Take One,
Ready Two, Take Two, Ready Three, Take Three." Shound come in around
three seconds.
It's not the norm, but some directors like to cut that quickly.
Fortunately they're the exception rather than the rule.
