OK, let's go with an example. A used cars website makes a request for
a video ad. ByteCaster posts the request as a competition. When the
competition ends, and there are 10 submissions, we show the client the
videos, he picks one and pays for it, and we pay the winner. The
winner gives us the rights to the video, we customize it for the client
(adding their logo and URL), and hand it over to the client.
Now there are 9 videos left. With the permission of the owners of
those videos, we will go around to other used cars websites, and try to
sell them those videos. Each video that is bought will be customized
similar to the above video.
In the meantime, the video makers may have other videos they think are
good business videos that are worthwhile. For example, you may have a
video shoot of a couple having a romantic dinner on the beach. So you
submit it to ByteCaster as part of your video profile. Someone at
ByteCaster will review your video and decide that it may be a good
advertisement for a romantic vacation package, or maybe for a dating
website. So he/she will try to sell the video to travel or dating
websites. If a website thinks it is interesting and wants to purchase
it, then it is customized and sold, and you get paid the price you
asked for it. The price at which the video is sold to the client will
be higher than your asking price to cover the cost of customization and
guarantee us a profit.
I hope that explains it a bit.
