No, they just need to make the products worth more to buy than to 
waste time downloading.  I don't download theatrical movies.  I could, 
easily, the day they go into theaters.  I used to, in fact.  Now, I 
know that I can buy them on DVD in 2 months for less than $15 so it 
just isn't worth my time and bandwidth to waste downloading a bad 
quality 700mb movie.  I've got better things to do.  Certainly there 
will always be people who are going to download rather than purchase, 
but there isn't a damn thing anyone can do that's going to change 
that.
