One thing that does confuse me, how can they bring out old films like
'Enter The Dragon' in HD ? it was not filmed in HD so where does the
better picture come from?

they scan the original 35mm (or 70mm) negatives in at a whopping resolution
(cant remember the exact figure) as the 35mm can be blown up and still
retain the quality this is then processed on a computer and ran through
filters etc. then outputted at the HD resolution required, its a standard
process for quite awhile now if u look on the back of most sony dvd's it
will say "mastered in high definition" this is what it means
the new computer master can then be used to archive the movie and take from
it all the different video formats the same can be done with 16mm film but
not to as great a quality
it can also be done with tv shows that were shot on 35mm in the states they
have shown new HD versions of hogans heroes, knight rider quantum leap
PJ
btw enter the dragon on hd-dvd looks great!
