As I recently mentioned in another thread, a few weeks ago I received
a 50-disc spindle of branded Sony 4.7 GB 16x/1x AccuCORE DVD-R discs.
The discs were purchased from a local retail outlet, not over the Web.
The printed packaging stated "Made in Japan" and according to both DVD
Decrypter 3.5.4.0 and DVD Identifier 4.3.0, the Manufacturer ID is
TYG03, indicating Taiyo Yuden (TY) media.
Of course, I have no means of knowing whether Sony uses other sources
as well.
