AFAIK, you'd need a box which is WiFi savvy AND AVI (whatever encoding
format) savvy. One such device is a Buffalo Link Theater DVD player,
however, it relies on software resident in PCs on the network to
access drives. I'm not sure, and doubt, whether their software will
see the disc connected to the wireless hub. Email them, though they
tend to ignore inquiries.
This player, and others, will also support the direct attachment of a
USB2 HDD, however it is limited to the FAT32 format. Some other DVD
players which support USB2 accept NTFS.
visit http://www.videohelp.com/ and use their search pages to find
items which match your criteria.
Another option is to connect a PC to the TV via TV-out, though
preferably via DVI.
If you do find an alternative method to playing WiFi AVIs from your
hub to your TV, please post back.
