Hi,
I guess I'm looking for a clue. I've stumbled along and learned a few
things and now it's a brick wall.
I video, among other things, a friends' band. Just one camera and a
condenser mic.
So far I'm able to create a dvd-r via Premier Elements or other basic
software.

I can also post clips like this one on putfile.

I'm doing this by simply exporting to Windows Media Player and then
uploading the resulting file.
There are a few artists who use similar clips that I made on their web
sites.

My problem is the file size (of course). From the avi file I am able to

compress about 1 minute of footage that seems to be of acceptable
quality for the net. These file are usually 5mgs or less. They play for

most people in about 5 seconds and can be emailed to friends etc.
Anything longer and the file size becomes too large, any further
compression with my resources and the quality becomes worse.

However, I do see clips all over the net of reasonable quality that
contain a whole song, sometimes 4-5 minutes or longer. How do they do
that?

I've just started playing with a 30 day trial version of
Autodesk/Discreet Cleaner but so far the learning curve is humbling.

So, am I going to have to go back to school or can someone offer a tip
and/or point me towards some good "super basic, from the beginning
info"?

Thanks for your time.
