It all comes down to playing around with the codecs and their parameters.
What wroks best, depends on the quality and resolution of the input
material. Other things to take into account, are cropping.
Windows Media 9 gives small files and good results. H.263 is quite good,
H.264 even better, but requires a faster computer for playback.
DivX/Xvid/Mpeg 4 can be good if you play with them as well. Sorensen 3 was
the previous champ, but is still used a lot. Other codecs give lesser
results, imho.
And also remember, not all codecs are cross-platform.
