And I get exactly the same advice from my independent
repair shop (on the other side of the country). Since they
do not sell tape, they have no vested interest in their
advice, only what they observe when they disassemble
customers' camcorders & VCRs. Best source of advice
I have access to. No offense to any salesmen.

In fact, my repair guy claims that he can tell you what
kind of tape you are running just from looking at the
tape path. He accurately read my machine.
