Thanks for the replies, I will just get the cable and see if my
Pinnacle Studio 10 will work with the camera, if not then I'll get the
video across as suggested.
I don't wish to correct you but I can transfer it via Stereo Video
Cable. I do know the correct terminology as mentioned below. The
manual calls the cable a "Stereo Video Cable" (part no. ST 250), with
that I can transfer the video and audio because it consists of left
and right audio and composite video signal sent along three wires in
the Stereo Video Cable according to the manuall, or I can use a
S-Video cable for higher quality, along with the audio side of the
Stereo Video Cable for the two sound channels. I don't wish to use
this method except as a last resort because of the waste of
time/effort and quality by using my analogue to video converter.
I already do a lot of analogue video work so I have the hardware for
analogue video transfer but this is my first digital camera which is
why I don't have the firewire cable until I get to the shops and I
didn't know that you don't need the factory supplied software to talk
to the camera via firewire.
It is good news that I don't need the software, thanks again to both
of you for your help.
David.
