Note also that anything mastered/pressed by Technicolor or its
affiliates
is virtually guaranted to cause problems with the DVP-S7000 which is
why
I got rid of both of mine years ago because it came too much of a
hassle
checking mintmarks to find a different mastering (from Technicolor, et
al)
of new releases that would play at all in the DVP-S7000.
I finally switched to Toshiba and Denon (and several others as cheap
backups)
and these play everything, old and new. SONY is presently on my "do
not buy"
list.
Note also Disney's DVDs are (nearly) 100% mastered/pressed by
Technicolor
and, several years ago, almost every new Disney/Touchstone/etc. release
caused large threads of "disc won't play" here. Mintmarks are the key
to
identifying problem discs -- almost always it's a Technicolor issue.
