Whew...thanks, Mike. Unfortunately Michigan is about 3,000 miles from
us (British Columbia, Canada).

So if I can just find someone with both a D9 and the Sony decks (likely
to be a fair distance from us), send them the tapes, maybe they can
record over to DV, then rip over firewire to either DVDRs or an external
hard drive...yikes!

If only there was a D-9 deck with firewire output, and someone wrote a
windows video codec for whatever the video format is, then I could have
the full original quality...no analog conversion!
