that dealt with spurious logic and one of the most popular techniques is

Of course-- environmentalism is communist. So let's all make sure the
government makes no effort to improve air quality or reduce toxic wastes....

The second part of your post that is rather debateable is the idea that
the "efficiencies" of oil is the result of a free market. So how would
you explain the absolutely massive tax subsidies Exxon received in the
gulf? Oh, but that's different.... right.
