Main Menu?
Also, if this is that version, you should be able to choose between the
"Original Theatrical Version" or the "Special Edition"...if you don't have
these menus or aren't offered this choice, then this is the "regular" DVD,
and no changes were made from the time it appeared in the theaters in 1979
(on other words, no extra alien stuff, so you must have mentally blocked out
some of the alien since you saw it last).
The Special Edition adds a few extra minutes, including new scenes with the
Alien Transmission before the Nostromo lands, and Ripley finding Dallas
while Mother counts down to self destruct.
