After spending about two hours in a search for no sound, I have finally
decided that I have far too many cables behind all the gear.

So I planned on a pleasurable day of exploring the shops for a new
tuner/amp unit that will also electronically switch video between the
satellite, DVD player, and so on.

I found a fairly topend Pioneer and it was on sale, and was just
about to tell the salesman to haul one out when I saw a very familiar and
very unwelcome logo on the front. It said "Windows Media Enabled."

When I asked the guys what that meant, he assured me that it enhanced all
the Media Center capabilities "just like on a PC". When I asked him if
it phoned home, refused to channel non-MPAA approved videos, and logged
playlists in supoena format, of course he didn't know what I was talking
about and didn't recognise the sarcasm.

Anyway, I noticed several units from two or three manufacturers had the
same decal. So I will ask on here. What is the significance of the logo?
Just something to sell units or does it actually mean something.
