I bought a Panasonic CT-26WX15 16:9 HDTV monitor and it is beautiful Even
just a straight analog cable line coax input looks fantastic. I don't
normally watch any broadcast television, just DVD's. Right now I'm running
S-Video, the same set-up I had with my Phillips 27" 4:3 set. I tried a
component connect with high quality Phillips cables and then RCA cables, and
all I get is a red colored "disaster". I checked all the cables with an ohm
meter, and triple checked the inputs/outputs. This TV has 2 sets of
component connect inputs, and I tried both with the same results. I think
it is my DVD player which is an older model Daewoo combo VCR/DVD which will
actually connect to older TV's through coax only, but it does have S-Video
(which works great) and component connect which gives me the "red disaster".
Also this player is a non-progressive scan machine.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm prepared to purchase a new DVD
player as my new TV has a HDMI input, but I would prefer to have a unit with
a digital LED Clock on the front panel. Also I have read something about an
audio/visual sync problem with HDMI with a LG unit. Thanks in advance.

Larry
