Yeah, I think i know where you're coming from. This is one of the
problems with these multi-format things, you're never 100% certain
exactly what you're getting or what it's capable of. I think the OP
was referring to a home dvd recorder though and that's what I am also
intending my reply towards. So far I've still resisted the urge to buy
a pc drive and start seriously editing, so I've used the grand toal of
1 +R in my home machine, a handful of -RW in two home machines and a
lot of -R in those machines. I was quite interested to hear that +RW
don't need finalising but it wouldn't send me out to replace my
recorder.
