Many swear by the Sanken COS-11. Others like the Countryman B6 for its easy
to hide small size. You'll find Trams used on Ebay for sometimes good
prices. The Tram enjoyed a period of high popularity and is still used by
many location sound mixers. Others like the better Sure lavs. If it were
me I'd go for the B6. It is really tiny. There are more opportunities to
hide it without resorting to going under layers of clothing than with larger
lavs. Any of these mics are good choices that will hold their value unlike
the lesser sounding and admittedly much less expensive low-end choices.
