I can only hope. I know I won't buy PC games that use StarForce (pity,
too, I like HOMM...) I won't buy CDs that use copy protection. I give
the MPAA the finger everytime I pick up my Tivo remote to FF through a
commercial...

High Def video in general is on the precipise. If the companies decide to
get really restrictive by doing things like enforcing broadcast flags and
stuff like that, it'll drive me away from the market pretty much. Once
I've been freed by Tivo, I can't imagine going back to having to schedule
my life around the broadcasters' schedules. Yeah, there's a few shows I'd
really miss - but they'll show up on DVD eventually if I still decide to
bother with them at all.
HD DVD has the real possibility of becoming the next "LD" in that only the
afficianados will bother with it. Everyone else will continue using DVD.
