Well, then would you bother renting a chair where the rental agreement
detailed such things like:
* Where the chair could be placed, and once placed, could never be moved.
* Forbids you "modifying" the chair in any fashion - such as putting a
cushion on it.
* Only allows you to sit on the chair - not your friends or family, only
you.
* Insists that if you want to sit in a different room, you MUST rent
another chair specifically for that room.
* Allows the rental company to come into your house - by whatever means
the company deems necessary - to inspect their chair.
That's exactly the sort of things the media companies hope to accomplish
with DRM.
