some people re-encode them with the x264 codec which is far better at
compressing than mpeg2.
i prefer them in their mpeg2 format as originally broadcast.

oh and... downloaded all 10+ gig of return of the living dead 2 (!) - i'm a
sucker for hi def :)

if you think 17gb is big dont look at something like laurence of
arabia.......
