Just discovered this, and thought I'd share it in case anyone else runs
into the same problem.

I spent 2 hours crafting an MP3 compilation project in Nero Express,
only to discover that I had the recorder setting accidentally set for
DVD instead of CD/CD-RW. I spent another hour trying to figure out how
to convert it so I didn't have to re-create all the songs & song order.
Nero provides NO function to change this after the compilation
creation process starts. The only place you can change it is the
opening screen, which clears the song list. Saving it as a project, &
reloading it doesn't help. Attempting to burn it to a CD fails because
it isn't a DVD, even though the project size is < 700MB.

If you burn it as a DVD iso, you can then restart Nero Express, load
the ISO, and burn it to a CD-R. It seems that while a Nero project has
the disc type stamped inside it, an ISO image must not.
