TENJHO TENGE: ROUND THREE, and WEATHER REPORT GIRL:
AH! MY GODDESS: ALWAYS AND FOREVER (VOLUME 1) (reviewed by Joel Pearce,
overall score 77/100):
"The original Ah! My Goddess series has aged so well that I'm not sure
we really need a longer series."

AQUARIAN AGE SIGN FOR EVOLUTION COLLECTION (reviewed by Brett Cullum,
overall score 85/100):
"It's interesting to look at Aquarian Age as an illustration of exactly
what an ADR house like ADV does when it works on a series. If you watch
an episode in the original Japanese, you'll notice a slightly different
tone from the American dub. The Japanese series has a more mournful,
dispirited quality, while the English actors give the characters a
little more life and wonder. Both versions are equally compelling, but
it's fun to compare and contrast how the vocal directors in the two
countries coach their actors to create two distinct versions of the
same story."

BLOOD FOR DRACULA (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 94/100):
"Blood for Dracula is excellent cinema yet it's difficult to view in
mixed company (and, therefore, it must be 'art')."

DICE: THE PHANTOM KNIGHT (VOLUME 4) (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 82/100):
"Dice: The Phantom Knight (Volume Four) is fine entertainment for young
fans who sport juice boxes and toys while sitting slack-jawed in front
of the television. Serious adult anime otakus need not apply."

GHOST WATCHER 2 (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 80/100):
"I haven't seen the first Ghost Watcher so I won't be able to comment on
the difference between the two. But having seen the sequel, I can say
that if I were forced to watch the predecessor I may in fact not hate
myself. Pretty high praise, huh?"

JAMBOREE (reviewed by Patrick Bromley, overall score 80/100):
"The movie is edited and structured like a porn film, with musical
performances in place of sex. It's that paper thin. There is only the
tiniest shred of a plot to be found in Jamboree -- just enough to carry
the film from song to song, singer to singer."

THE KILLING OF SISTER GEORGE (MGM RELEASE) (reviewed by George Hatch,
overall score 93/100):
"Obviously, The Killing of Sister George was ahead of its time, further
demonstrating director Robert Aldrich's intuition for finding or
creating new cinematic outlets that provoked audiences to take different
and thoughtful looks at what was being presented on the silver screen."

LE PORTRAIT DE PETITE COSSETTE (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall
score 65/100):
"Hell, by the third episode I was so uninvolved I didn't even notice
when one of the characters suddenly slipped into a coma. Then again,
it's not like I missed anything."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/petitecossette.php
PRIVATE PARTS (1972) (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 85/100):
"Although fans of Bartel's boundary-stretching cult comedies Death Race
2000 and Eating Raoul will find that Private Parts shows a very
different side of the esteemed cult director, it's still a pitch-black
comedy that presents us with a shocking milieu of perverts, cretins, and
crazed killers."

STREET FIGHTER ALPHA: GENERATIONS (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall
score 67/100):
"Considering how exciting the material should be, this anime is a bore.
Outside of two major fight sequences, the film snoozes along, too short
to develop any real interest in plot or character, but too long to have
the film only be one big fight scene."

TENJHO TENGE: ROUND THREE (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall
score 89/100):
"Is Tenjho Tenge growing up? Round Three paints a veneer of grounded
reality over the heretofore inexplicable fantasy world of Todo Academy."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/tenjhotengeround3.php
WEATHER REPORT GIRL (reviewed by Geoffrey Miller, overall score 68/100):
"Japan isn't exactly Saudi Arabia. However, it's impossible to dismiss
the way Keiko brazenly displays traits associated with modern
masculinity: sexual freedom and openness, a ruthless hunger to climb the
corporate ladder, and a dominating attitude. Could Keiko be the
embodiment of Japanese men's fear (and perhaps desire) of a woman
liberated and empowered by the feminist thought of Western culture?"
