At early education levels the experience is largely platform
independent as is really a matter of the software, not the OS.
Kindergarteners up through middle school don't have much to do with and
OS, and for that matter, I'd be willing to bet a large percentage of
the general population pick a platform based primarily on what they
know rather than comparing platforms and making an informed decision.

As far as what people encounter in the "Real World" that largely
depends on what their chosen profession is.
