TV sets that sync to 60 Hz signals have been commonly available in 50 Hz
countries since at least the early 90s. Probably earlier, too. (And I'm
pretty sure even the sets that _don't_ do multiple scanning frequencies
have been totally independent of the AC supply [mains] frequency years
before that.)
