I was referring to recording to the TS buffer. Recording to the HDD or
DVD disc is completely separate.

The extended warranty must be purchased within 30 days of the purchase
of the unit. You can't get it in the stores because the minimum is
$300. But you can get it online where the minimum is $200. But you
have to order it within 30 days of your purchase.
If you run over but are still within 90 days, you can return the unit
and buy another one in a separate transaction. Then the clock starts
over as far as extended warranties go. But you must have a new sales
slip because the information on it is used to purchase the extended
warranty online.
Be sure to buy the "G" unit. That's the one with the letter "G" as the
first character in the serial number. It is part of the date code for
manufacture. "G" means August and the next two characters "06" mean
year 2006. As I understand it that is the newest model available at
this time.
Also be sure it says "DivX Certified" or somesuch on the outside of
the box.

Govt is an insult to human dignity. With or without govt,
you would have good people doing good things and evil
people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil
things, that takes govt. Govt is the root of all evil.
