Very likely, if you recorded the DVD in DVD-Video mode.

On a 'minus' recorder there can be a choise to record in a mode that
is incompatible to DVD players, where you can edit the recording. The
compatible mode might be called "DVD Video".
At least in this mode, there shall be a "finalise" option/command
somewhere.

This is similar to what the recorder do. It can read its own
recordings but to be compaible to standard players it needs to be in
standard format.
