Speaking of the ILO, I've discovered that mine makes an inferior picture at
speeds slower than LP. EP, SLP and SEP are not nearly as nice as they are
on the Lite-On that I got from Costco. Is it possible that these slower
speeds are recorded in MPEG-II on the ILO, and MPEG-4 on the Lite-On? As it
is, I have to make any discs longer than 3 hours on the Lite-On.
Most interesting is that the quality drops precipitously as soon as the ILO
goes from LP to EP. It's not a gradual loss of quality, but a sudden drop
in resolution. Does your experience agree with mine? (Mine is a DVDR5MU1.)
Thanks,
Norm
