|| A and D and Da Vinci are very similar IMO.

I enjoyed the book, but I think Gareth's reply is the best reaction to the
notion that it is one of the greatest of the last six years... I don't think
it qualifies, even by weight...

Just about everything is wrong with the movie, IMO.

I never thought Tom Hanks should have been cast, but had high hopes of
Audrey Tautou, who should have been ideal. As it turned out, they were both
completely bland. And the movie was both too short and too long - condensed
so as to be virtually incomprehensible to anyone who wasn't throughly
familiar with the book, but still as boring as hell, with those weird
holodeck-style SFX that were supposed to illustrate Hanks puzzling out the
clues. It was almost like watching a presentation of highlights of the real
movie.

I think a friend of mine had the best idea when they announced the casting -
she wanted Mark Harmon (Chicago Hope), in a three-evening Hallmark
miniseries. I think he would have been good - although I would still give
Audrey Tautou a chance - so long as she promised to pretend she was playing
Amelie....

What will they do with A & D?
