Adding any component between the signal and the output reduces quality.
If the cable / dish signal is good but passed through the DVD player or
something, it could lose some quality. There would be nothing between
the DVD and the TV, so the signal is good.
The RF connector is the worst type of connector for signal quality.
There must be other ports for signal transmission - like the
white/red/yellow combo.
I don't own that kind of tv and am not in England anyhow, so I can't
really know the exact problem.
