Seriously, though, remember, it's not just neat-o, it's the LAW--
FCC has declared we must all have HD sets (and players!) by January
2009, or buy converter boxes, seeing as every broadcaster must switch
signals or die.

(Now, if VHS had been made illegal in June 2000, that would have been
perfectly fine with us, but we'd have still needed time to catch up.)
