I had the problem with 3.53 when I changed to XP SP1. 3.54beta was
upgraded to work with XP SP1. As soon as WinMx went public with 3.54,
Microsoft broke it by releasing SP2.
The problem must be a rarely occurring one, because it doesn't happen
for ages, but once it happens, it will keep coming back. So the people
who say there's no problem just haven't encountered it yet.

Specifically, the article links to a MS tool for testing compatibility
of an application with a specific release of XP or Vista.
