I hear a big difference between the Z1 audio and DV cameras I've used
in the past: it's much cleaner with far less noise.

I certainly don't understand why anyone would record to Minidisk
instead: that's another highly compressed format, so if you believe
that there are real issues with using compressed audio for HDV, why
switch to a different compression format?

Either way, as far as I'm concerned you're creating a heck of a lot of
work for yourself for no real benefit.
