Spex,
I hadn't planed to this quickly, but a guy on dvinfo.net was in a bind
and gave me an incredible price on a like new Canon XLH1 and an addl
16x lens. I've had it two days and am in heaven. The 24f look is
beautifull.I hardly used 24p on my XL2, but plan to use it as much as
possible on the H1.
I need to sell my XL2, and I'd like to also sell the FX1. I'd replace
the FX1 with the new Canon A1, thereby ending up with two matched
hdvcams. Hopefully I'll find more business that way.(Is it ok to list a
camera for sale on this forum?).
Now we have to get our editing workflow upgraded.
I'll probably still be shooting wedings in sd 4:3 (what the clients
want), but I'm also thinking about shooting in hdv (using the 4:3
viewfinder guideline),editing in hdv, then authoring a cropped dvd in
sd. I've heard that you have a LOT more to work with if you can import
and edit in hdv, even though the output (for now) is still sd. If the
Canon A1 has the same image, frame rates, etc. as the H1, it's a killer
deal for $4000. the H1 spanks the Sony FX1 up and down the street, and
I'm sure the A1 will look the same.
How about you? have you made an decision yet?
