The 4:3 P&S option has pretty much never been used. It's supposed to
include instructions for the player to pan, while keeping a full
anamorphic display.
The only other option is to use letterbox mode, but also get a player
that supports ZOOM modes.
Better yet, get used to letterboxing. Don't forget that cutting off the
sides means you are LOSING picture information.
