Wow. thanks for the post. Lots of intersting and scary and annoying
things there as normal.

the ICT is the newest thing and I'm impressed that there have been
people to stand up and say that they want things to "not be annoying to
the customer." Bravo!

Also interssting that Japan has a LAW "the use of any image constraint
device in broadcasting and recording is actually illegal." That's
sorta like REVERSE DMCA. What an innovative idea: laws that provide
FOR the people not AGAINST them!

And it's good to note that teh DVD Steering committee recognizes that
Region coding is (a) annoying, (b) ineffective. Though, i don't
understand why they use Asian bootleggers as a reason to KEEP region
coding; it's not like the bootleggers use regioncoding...!

It looks like the most popular hack for BluRay players will be (a)
region free, (b) telling the ICT chip that it is Region2 and sometime
before 2011.
